CAPITAL V
Hailing
from the streets of Toronto, Ontario, comes forth a rapid fire Mc, Capital
"V" whose lyrics reflect the struggle's of life in poverty.
Raised on Jane St, one of Toronto's most notorious streets, plagued
with the presence of drugs, guns and crime, and at 9 years old this
is the environment in which Capital first developed his skills to write
his lyrics and has been expressing himself through them since. Capital
started his career in the music industry alongside his previous band
members Black Fidel, and Strik 9, of the group called "Deadly Weapons".
They had gained a large fan base and continued to perform at many venues
such as Comfort Zone, El Mocambo, Big Bop, and at many local High School
talent shows. Unfortunately the group later parted ways but still remained
strong in their support towards one another, especially their solo careers.
Capital knew that this was not the end of the road for him and decided
to take on the music industry again, but this time as a solo artist.
Now
as a solo artist, Capital "V" has created a lot of buzz for
himself, freestyling on the local radio stations such as DJ X's POWER
MOVE (88.1 FM), MASTERMIND (89.5 FM), PROJECT BOUNCE (88.9/89.5 FM),
105.5 FM...etc.
Capital
also got the opportunity of a lifetime to perform with Toronto's own
legendary pioneer MC Frankie Payne, opening up for the Boot Camp Click,
which later would help make his name become more and more popular throughout
the GTA.
In
2006, Capital "V" appeared on several tracks for a mix tape
called "Street Rebel, Rebel or Die" which had gotten heavy
rotation on the radio. In 2007, Capital "V" teamed up with
a childhood friend and also another Tdot rapper named Sling Dadz, to
create the indie label "Street Code Ent. Canada”. Since then
Capital "V" has appeared on various mix tapes and hip hop
DVD’s.
To
date, Capital "V" is featured on Sling Dadz classic "I'm
from Jane remix" alongside Frankie Payne, Page, The Smugglaz, K-Fresh
The Nem-S-Iss, Blacus Ninjah and many more. With the video being in
heavy rotation, it sets the tone for Capital "V"'s introduction
with a solo album he's currently working on which is sure to be a masterpiece,
collaborating with top Canadian producers including Tone Mason and Mike
Mills and many more to come, so stay tuned!
